BURLINGTON, ON, (September 12, 2006) Gennum Corporation (TSX: GND) announced today that Dr. Franz Fink has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of the company, effective immediately. Dr. Fink has also been appointed to the company's Board of Directors.
Dr. Fink has spent the past 15 years in the United States and Europe with Freescale Semiconductor and Motorola. He most recently served as Senior Vice-President and General Manager of Freescale's Wireless and Mobile Systems Group and before that was Vice-President and General Manager of the 32-bit Embedded Microprocessor Division in Motorola's Semiconductor Products Sector.
A native of Germany, Dr. Fink earned a Master's degree and a Doctorate from the Department of Computer Science at the Technical University of Munich.
Dr. Fink succeeds Donald Woodley, who served as interim President and CEO for the past ten months.
