10th Anniversary Sponsor CapTel Invites You to Get Involved!
Fall weather means that Walk4Hearing events are just around the corner! Now in its 10th year, Walk4Hearing has become one of the largest nationwide events in raising awareness for hearing loss issues. Produced by the Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA), Walk4Hearing events bring individuals, families, businesses, and communities together to support hearing loss programs and education.
CapTel is proud to be a 10th anniversary sponsor of Walk4Hearing, as well as to have sponsored the event each year since its inception.
Walk4Hearing started in 2006, with events taking place in 6 cities, and an original fundraising goal of $25,000. Today, Walk4Hearing events are taking place in 21 cities with a fundraising goal of $1.4 million. Overall, more than $9 million has been raised by an estimated 58,000 participants, to go toward various programs and services for the hearing loss community.
Get Involved!
Whether you’re directly impacted by hearing loss, know someone affected, or are simply looking for a worthy cause to support, CapTel invites you to participate in Walk4Hearing. There is no cost to sign up. The walk itself is easy, fun and inspiring, as you walk at your own pace along with all the other volunteers trying to make a difference. The Hearing Loss Association of America estimates that there are currently 48 million people in the U.S. who are living with some degree of hearing loss, and many of them lack the funds and resources necessary to adequately treat their hearing loss. While it’s not mandatory that walkers raise money for the event, it is certainly encouraged. The two primary ways for raising money for the Walk4Hearing are online donations and getting individuals and local businesses to sponsor you or your team during the walk. Once you register for the Walk4Hearing, you can sign in online and access your My Walk Center page, to help you obtain and track donations.
All it takes is a little effort to help make a world of difference for millions of people by participating in the Walk4Hearing. Visit www.walk4hearing.org to sign up today!
