Entific Medical Systems, Inc. Announces New Product

Share:
(Columbus, OH) - Entific Medical Systems, Inc., manufacturer and distributor of the Baha® System, is pleased to announce the upcoming release of a new product to the marketplace.

The Baha Divino™, the company's first sound processor to offer digital programming possibilities and a built-in directional microphone, will be introduced at the upcoming American Academy of Audiology (AAA) Conference March 30 through April 2 in Washington, D.C.

In addition to digital signal processing combined and the built-in directional microphone, the Divino also offers four new color choices. At the AAA Conference, this new sound processor will be available for demonstrations and patients who have worn the Divino will be present to share their experience.

The Baha System is the only implanted treatment for hearing loss that works through direct bone conduction to treat those with a mixed or conductive hearing loss or Single Sided Deafness. Originally FDA-cleared for use in the United States in 1996, the system is currently worn by more than 25,000 people worldwide.

The new sound processor is equipped with two programs incorporating an omni or directional microphone. The Divino also offers automatic gain control output compression (AGCo), which limits distortion at high levels and improves sound quality in loud environments.

The Divino will be available to consumers on July 1, 2005.

Entific staff and Divino demonstrations will be available in booth #649 at the AAA Convention.

Entific Medical Systems is based in Göteberg, Sweden and represented by local offices throughout North America and Europe. Originally created as a spin-off of the Swedish oral implant group Nobel Biocare, Entific has been an independent company since 1999. Its products - the Baha system and Face to Face craniofacial prosthetic anchoring system - are both FDA-cleared and carry the CE Mark. Entific's United States office is located in Columbus, Ohio.
