Audiology Online (www.audiologyonline.com) is the world's largest news, information and education resource for hearing healthcare professionals. Through Entific's partnership with Audiology Online, visitors can participate in AOi, the online training and education center for the hearing healthcare profession and industry, and gain access to pre-recorded and live Entific-hosted training events, including a library of training courses titled "Baha - Implantable Hearing System." Participation in online training may qualify for Continuing Education credits (CEUs).
The first training course will introduce the Baha System; a titanium fixture, an external abutment, and a detachable sound processor. The training will explain how the Baha System works via bone conduction, sending sound to a functioning cochlea, while bypassing the outer and middle ear.
The Baha System is FDA-cleared to treat mixed, conductive, and single sided sensorineural hearing losses for people aged five years and older. The Baha System is currently used by more than 14,000 people worldwide, utilizing unilateral and bilateral fittings.
