Hearing Care Professionals Contribute $10,000 Worth of Pedal Power for a Worthy Cause

Somerset, NJ April 19 - Hearing care professionals attending the 2011 AudiologyNOW! conference in Chicago voted Oticon, Inc.'s "Empowering People" exhibit the Best in Show in the Supersize category. This is the third year in a row that Oticon has captured top honors in the Supersize category. The 9000-square-foot, double-decker exhibit showcased Oticon's comprehensive portfolio of advanced technology hearing and business support solutions. Throughout the exhibit area, interactive multi-media stations focused on Oticon's four key practice areas - audiology, technology, counseling and fitting and business support

"Our goal was to feature our newest solutions in a context that would also demonstrate to hearing care professionals that Oticon offers the tools and the know-how needed to help them meet their practice goals for 2011 and beyond," said Oticon President Peer Lauritsen. "The 'empowering' theme helped us to communicate that Oticon's focus on four key practice areas - audiology, technology, counseling and fitting and business support - would empower them to differentiate their practices, improve patient outcomes and positively impact their bottom line."

Highlights of the two-level exhibit included a section devoted to Oticon's ConnectLine wireless connectivity system, featuring the newest innovation in wireless connectivity, ConnectLine Microphone. The Oticon Pediatrics module introduced exhibit visitors to Super Power Safari, the latest addition to the Safari family of child-friendly hearing solutions. Oticon staff demonstrated the company's newest business tools including Blueprint and MyOticon, designed to help practitioners transform their practices and retain the next generation of hearing device users.

Hundreds of conference attendees took part in the exhibit's special "Pedal to Empower" virtual bike races in which they raced against the clock and each other to earn donations from Oticon, Inc. for Lambs Farm, a Chicago-area residence for disabled adults. The collective good will of the participating hearing care professionals tallied up to a $10,000 donation from Oticon that will empower Lambs Farm to continue year-round support and services for disabled residents.

The exhibit booth also featured a Chicago-style pizza bar and a special Student Lounge where audiology students could relax and network with other students and Oticon staff.
