Rockville, Maryland, September 5, 2006---Elizabeth Mundinger has been named Director of Federal and Political Advocacy at the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association where she will lead the Capitol Hill office.
Previously, Ms. Mundinger lobbied Congress and the Administration as Director of Government Relations for Bread for the World. She is a former Director and Counsel for Democratic staff on the Subcommittee on Energy Policy, Natural Resources, and Regulatory Affairs of the House Committee on Government Reform.
Ms. Mundinger has a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy Studies from Duke University and a law degree from Columbia University.
ASHA is the national professional, scientific, and credentialing association for more than 123,000 audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and speech, language, and hearing scientists. Audiologists specialize in preventing and assessing hearing disorders as well as providing audiologic treatment including hearing aids. Speech-language pathologists identify, assess, and treat speech and language problems including swallowing disorders.
