This conference is intended for otologists, audiologists, psychologists, and nurses who provide clinical management services for patients with tinnitus. The conference will also provide information to patients who have tinnitus, their family and friends, but it will NOT include individual diagnosis and treatment. The purpose of this conference is to provide a review of current evaluation and management strategies for the treatment of tinnitus. Upon completion of the program, the participant will be able to discuss the management of tinnitus and the tinnitus patient.
Conference goals include:
- Provide sufficient background to enable clinics to provide competent tinnitus treatment
- Discuss consumer information and business approaches
- Provide up-to-date information on all tinnitus treatments
- Review current research on tinnitus mechanisms and future treatments
- Review devices on the market and soon to be on the market to treat tinnitus
This year's Guest of Honor is Gerhard Andersson, PhD (Sweden). The conference will feature special presentations from Carol Bauer, MD, Tom Brozoski, PhD, Christina Stocking, Au.D., Bev Klug, MA, and Don McFerran, MD. Presentations from the University of Iowa faculty as well as from industry representatives discussing their tinnitus devices will also be included.
