Japan Needs Our Help
We have an opportunity to help the Educational Audiology Association and the Marion Downs Hearing Center provide the children of Japan with hearing help.
EAA and the MDHC are involved in a relief effort focused on Schools for the Deaf and mainstream DHH students in Japan that suffered devastation from the earthquake and tsunami. A secure site for monetary donations has been established through the Marion Downs Hearing Center: Marion Downs Hearing Center Foundation Japan Support Donation. You can click on this link and make a contribution. Funds will be channeled to help with the educational, hearing and amplification needs of children in Japan.
Also, Michael Sharp, Au.D., of ISU and an ILAA and IEAA member, is taking actual donations for school supplies. Several of these schools have lost almost everything. Supplies can include hearing aid related items (batteries, testers, cleaners, etc) and everyday school materials (pencils, crayons, markers, etc). Please send donated items to: Dr. Mike Sharp, Illinois State University, Campus Box 4720, Fairchild Hall, Normal, IL 61790. If you have any questions, please contact Mike at mksharp@ilstu.edu
Sincerely,
Tena McNamara, President
