ABOUT HEARING AND KIDS
In Hearing and Kids, the latest addition to The Blogs @ Hearing Health and Technology Matters, Dr. Madell covers the full range of issues related to managing hearing loss and other auditory disorders in children, including diagnosis, technology, auditory development, language and literacy, intervention, counseling, and support for kids and families.
Holly Hosford-Dunn, PhD, editor-in-chief of Hearinghealthmatters.org, describes Jane Madell as "an informed and fearless champion of all things Audiology. She is one of our profession's earliest activist for pediatric audiology. Like any good activist, Jane takes strong positions. But she also welcomes dissenting opinions and data and encourages dialectic discussion as an important means of furthering our profession."
Dr. Hosford-Dunn adds, "I have often disagreed with Jane, but I have always emerged from the discussions as a better informed, more fully formed audiologist. I value Jane's views and welcome her with open arms to our pages."
The new blog editor's clinical and research interests have been in the areas of evaluation of hearing in infants and young children;management of pediatric hearing loss;selection and management of technology, including hearing aids, cochlear implants, and FM systems;assessment of auditory function;and evaluation and management of auditory processing disorders.
