This month’s 20Q is authored by none other than the venerable Dr. James Jerger. In addition to the evidence-based clinical information about AERPs (auditory event-related potentials) and the peek they give us into cognitive processes, this 20Q provides some highlights of Dr. Jerger’s notable career in audiology. He shares his insights about issues audiologists face today, and he provides great advice for us all. Read it here.

Assessment and Management of Patients Exposed to Blasts

Dr. Brian Fligor
Dr. Brian Fligor

This month’s live webinar series is presented in partnership with the Hearing Center of Excellence, a part of the Department of Defense focused on research into prevention, mitigation, and rehabilitation of hearing loss and auditory injury. The webinars detail the assessment and treatment considerations for people who have been exposed to blasts. This issue is not limited to conflict zones - since we started planning this series last year, I’ve noticed countless examples of blast-related incidents that occurred domestically. All live webinars will be made available as recorded courses.

Next month - please join us for the 7th annual AudiologyOnline Noise Induced Hearing Loss webinar series organized by Guest Editor Dr. Brian Fligor.

Industry Update

Our interviews this month include an overview of Sycle Pro, an FAQ about SoundRecover, a discussion of new products from Sonic, and information about AudiologySystems’ nationwide expansion.

Please feel free to contact me at any time at editor@audiologyonline.com with your questions, comments and suggestions. As always, thanks for reading!

Cheers,

Carolyn
