SOMERSET, NJ February 23, 2018 -- Douglas L. Beck, AuD, Director of Academic Sciences for Oticon, Inc. was among the expert panelists who presented “The Future of Audiology: A Look into the Crystal Ball” at the 2018 Elite Business Summit. The annual summit, held February 15-18, 2018 in Cancun, Mexico, brought together more than 300 hearing care professionals from across the US to explore evolving hearing care industry and patients’ need for customized services, tailored to their needs and interests. In the session, Beck joined other industry thought leaders in pediatrics, private practice, clinical practice, manufacturing and distribution to offer summit participants a look towards the future of hearing healthcare in the United States.
On February 1, Beck spoke on “Paradigm Shifts in Cognition, Audition & Amplification” at the Georgia Academy of Audiology 2018 Convention in Atlanta. Beck discussed the shift away from previously well-accepted solutions that amplify sound while reducing the dynamics of sound to sophisticated sound processing systems geared towards an improved listening experience.
