David Fabry Joins Phonak, USA

WARRENVILLE, IL -- Phonak is pleased to announce that David Fabry, Ph.D. has joined the Phonak Team as Director of Clinical Research. Dr. Fabry is a well-known practitioner and researcher in the field of Audiology. Most recently he served as Section Head of the Audiology Section at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
Dave Fabry received his Ph.D. in Audiology from the University of Minnesota in 1988. Subsequently, he worked as Research Audiologist at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, until 1990 when he joined the staff at Mayo Clinic. He served as Section Head of Audiology from 1994-2002, and he was named research Chair of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology in 2000. He also served terms as an Associate Editor of Ear and Hearing, and as Editor of American Journal of Audiology. In 1997, he was elected to the Board of the American Academy of Audiology, and just completed his term as President of that organization. He has published over fifty articles in peer-reviewed journals, and he has presented widely in the United States and internationally.
In his new role at Phonak Dr. Fabry will serve as Director of Clinical Research. He will be responsible for designing and implementing clinical trials and basic research studies in hearing instruments and Audiology. He will also play an active role in the design and development of Phonak's hearing instruments.
