Today February 5, 2007, Cochlear Americas launched a new Website to accomodate an additional hearing implant product: the Baha bone anchored hearing solution. The new Website still features the Nucleus content you have always relied on, along with new and more in-depth information on the Baha system.
At Cochlear, our mission is to deliver innovative hearing solutions to those living with a hearing loss. Today, we offer two types of hearing implants, each designed to treat specific types of hearing loss.
Cochlear implants are designed to treat those who have severe-to-profound hearing loss in both ears, and have very little or no benefit from hearing aids. The most recent cochlear implant line is called Nucleus Freedom - it's a customizable solution designed to fit your life. Read more about Nucleus Cochlear implants.
The Baha system is the only implantable hearing treatment based on bone conduction. The Baha system is designed to treat those who have a conductive or mixed hearing loss, and also Single Sided Deafness (SSD). People who use the Baha system have described their hearing as remarkably improved. Read more about the Baha system.
