Central Michigan University launched its Doctor of Audiology program six years ago to meet changing industry requirements. As needs changed, CMU adjusted its admission requirements to allow individuals with 3 years of full-time professional experience to apply for admission to the program. Now, CMU is phasing out the program with final applications being taken by May 31, 2006.
The Doctor of Audiology program is delivered in an online format. Classes are enriched with Web-based interactive learning that includes chat sessions, message boards, and e-mail. The minimum of 36 hours of course work are distributed among a core sequence that is taken by all students, an elective sequence determined jointly by the individual student and the advisory committee, and a 6 credit-hour doctoral project.
Central Michigan University, founded in 1892, is Michigan's fourth largest state university. Accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, CMU has offered off-campus degree programs to working adults for more than 30 years. Over 60,000 graduates have earned their degrees through CMU's off-campus programs. CMU's online programs are part of a network of more than 60 CMU locations in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
