Company helps sufferers with effective tinnitus treatment.

WESTMINSTER, Colo., March 5, 2014 – CBS affiliates in Denver and Kansas City have recently featured Neuromonics, Inc., and the success audiologists have have in treating patients with Neuromonics devices.

In Kansas City, KCTV5 hightlighted the work of Laura Flowers, Au.D., of Associated Audiologists. Working with Neuromonics tinnitus treatment devices, she has successfully treated a patient who had heard from physicians that there was no help for him and that he had to “live with it.” After sleeping only two-four hours a night for several months, James Amos now says, “I’m a whole lot better than I was.”

In Denver, KCNC-TV spotlighted the work of Colorado Tinnitus and Hearing Center’s Patty Kalmbach, Au.D., in treating a military veteran suffering from tinnitus. Kalmbach prescribed the Neuromonics Oasis™ device to help Lorenzo Gonzalez, a military veteran who suffered from tinnitus for 35 years. Gonzalez, who described his tinnitus as “bone-chilling,” was unable to function in day-to-day life. With the Oasis, Gonzalez began to experience relief from his tinnitus. “All of a sudden, I started noticing it wasn’t as severe and it just kept going down and down and down,” the patient says in the televised segment.

The FDA-cleared, patented Oasis, considered the gold standard in tinnitus treatment, offers long-term, significant relief for individuals with severe tinnitus. With the Oasis, a specially trained audiologist administers a long-term treatment protocol based on the Neuromonics Tinnitus Treatment. Using calming, relaxing music, the Oasis is embedded with a neural stimulus that interacts with the tinnitus perception. The music, customized for each user’s audiological profile, engages the auditory pathways to promote neural plastic changes. Over time, these changes help the brain to filter out the tinnitus perception, reducing tinnitus disturbance and providing long-term relief from symptoms. The compact Oasis device is simple to use, functions much like familiar consumer music players, and fits easily into patients’ lifestyles.

Neuromonics recently released an updated version of its Oasis. Audiologists now can complete in-office programming of the Oasis via the NOAH (industry-standard software platform for hearing aid/device fitting) interface. The resulting ability to fit the device on the same day as the evaluation gives audiologists greater flexibility, and gives patients the opportunity to start feeling relief more quickly.
