Brent Spehar from Washington University was selected as the recipient of the Herbert J. Oyer Student Research Award for his research-paper submission titled "Intra- and Inter-modal Integration in Young and Older Adults". His research advisor is Nancy Tye- Murray.
Brent received a one-year membership to the Academy of Rehabilitative Audiology, free registration to the 2005 ARA Institute, and a $1000 cash award. He will be presenting his research at the ARA Institute, which is being held from September 29-October 2 in Park City, Utah.
The Herbert J. Oyer research award was established in 2001 by the executive board of the Academy of Rehabilitative Audiology to honor Herbert J. Oyer, Ph.D., a charter member of that academy and a leader in the field or auditory rehabilitation. It was designed to recognize students completing exemplary research and to advance the area of auditory rehabilitation.
