Better Hearing and Speech Month (BHSM) Contests: Two Ways to Win!

Share:
Option 1: Enter the Drawing Contest!

Enter your student's drawings in ASHA's fifth annual National BHSM Drawing Contest [PDF] for students 10 years of age and younger.

Drawings should focus on the contest theme, Why are good communication skills so important?

First-place artwork will be used for ASHA's 2012 BHSM downloadable screensaver and promoted to the national media. The top three contest winners will each receive a MP3 player from Califone International as well as a variety of BHSM products.

Option 2: The King's Speech Inspires National Video Contest!

The Oscar winning movie, The King's Speech, is the inspiration for 2011 BHSM video contest.

Individuals 10 years of age and older are invited to submit an original YouTube video focusing on depicting what it's like to be a person who has difficulty speaking or hearing, show how important it is to understand how that person feels, and how to accept, respect and help those who have challenges communicating (individuals under 18 years of age must have parental consent to enter).

Cash prizes will be awarded to first, second, and third place. In addition, the first and second place winner will each receive a MP3 player with Active Noise-Cancelling Headphones from Califone International. Each of the winning videos will be highlighted on the BHSM website throughout May and promoted nationally and to the winner's local news outlets.

Complete rules for both contests can be found at www.asha.org/bhsm/
