Bernafon, LLC is pleased to announce that it has been chosen as a select supplier for the upcoming United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) digital hearing aid contract. The new contract takes effect this Fall and Bernafon is currently the only company named on the contract who will be able to offer ChannelFree™ Digital Signal Processing technology.
Acceptance to the VA contract represents a significant opportunity for Bernafon. The government channel of the hearing aid business has become the fastest growing and largest segment of the hearing care industry. Total sales volume for the first year of the VA's digital hearing aid contract is anticipated to be approximately 430,000 units. Beginning November 1, 2009, Bernafon's hearing instruments will be made available to our nation's hearing impaired veterans through VA clinics, military hospitals and other federally funded institutions in the United States.
