Warwick, RI - - December 22, 2008 - - Beltone of New England and Beltone Electronics Corporation of Chicago has chosen the winner of a pair of Beltone's most advanced hearing aids.

The winner is of Leominster, MA. Mr. Tuttle is sixty-four years old and enjoys volunteering his time for Hospice care and helping to care for his two grandchildren. The winning entry was chosen from among more than 40 entries. The entry was submitted by Mrs. Shelly Kennedy Leonard, who is Mr. Tuttle's daughter.
Mr. Tuttle will be given a complete audiometric hearing evaluation by one of Beltone's trained Hearing Instruments Specialists. This specialist will determine the optimal hearing aid solution based on the nature of Mr. Tuttle's hearing loss. This prize represents up to a $7,700 value. Plus, Beltone New England will provide Mr. Tuttle with all service and adjustments of the hearing aids, absolutely free, for the life of the hearing aids.
In her letter, Mrs. Leonard said, "Poppi" feels very fortunate to have all that he does. But he can not afford a hearing aid and he could be more effective at helping his grandchildren and his hospice families if he had better hearing."
Based on this submission the judges felt that the Mr. Tuttle was a very deserving candidate to win the first "Beltone Better Hearing Giveaway". But according to Michael Andreozzi, President, Beltone New England, "The decision was extremely difficult. There were so many thoughtful and deserving entries submitted that it made it very hard to pick just one. Our goal with the "Better Hearing Giveaway" contest was to give back to someone in the community. We also want to raise awareness for those suffering from hearing loss and the impact hearing aids can have on someone who is hearing impaired.
We are very pleased that Mr. Tuttle will have the gift of better hearing in time for the New Year. Better hearing dramatically improves quality of life for the individual with a hearing loss problem. It benefits the family and friends of the individual in that they no longer need to speak in a raised voice to have a normal conversation."
