Beltone Celebrates Launch of New North American Headquarters and GN Technology Center

Beltone President Todd Murray and GN ReSound President and CEO Jesper Mailind to Attend Ribbon Cutting Event

Chicago, September 10, 2005 - Beltone President Todd Murray and GN ReSound President and CEO Jesper Mailind will join Beltone and GN ReSound officers and employees in "The Glen" on Monday, October 10, for a ribbon-cutting ceremony and official unveiling of the company's new corporate headquarters at 2601 Patriot Blvd., in Glenview, Ill.

Completed in early September - the 49,000-square-foot, two-story building houses approximately 150 employees and serves as Beltone's North American headquarters. It will also serve as the global center for the GN ReSound Group's research & development, global manufacturing and research audiology groups. The new building will provide Beltone employees with first-class office space and facilities in one of the area's premier locations. Moreover, it represents this company's commitment to the future of hearing healthcare.

"This new facility represents the growth of the Beltone brand, and our extraordinary North American network of hearing care practitioners," said Beltone President Todd Murray. "In celebration of our 65th Anniversary, we proudly recognize our past accomplishments and great legacy, while looking forward to a bright and successful future."

Beltone worked with Catellus Development Corporation to develop their new North American headquarters at Prairie Glen Corporate Campus. Prairie Glen is considered one of the premier locations in Chicago's northern suburbs for major corporate relocations, according to Kevin Matzke, Catellus senior vice president.

Jesper Mailind, President and Chief Executive Officer, GN ReSound Group

Jesper Mailind has been the President and CEO of GN Resound since 1977. From the group headquarter in Copenhagen, Denmark, he oversees all group activities worldwide including GN ReSound, GN Optometrics, Beltone and Viennatone.

Jesper Mailind holds a General Certificate (baccalaureate) entitling to entry to universities (1975), and an EAC (East Asiatic Company) Business School including Diploma of Commerce (HH), from Copenhagen (1977). Additionally he has a Master of Science degree in economics from Copenhagen School of Economics and Business Administration (1982), and a MBA degree from INSEAD, France (1984).

Todd Murray, President, Beltone U.S.

Todd Murray was named Beltone's President in March of 2004, and is responsible for overseeing the company's U.S. operations.

Prior to joining Beltone, Murray spent nine years with Cole National Corporation, a two billion-dollar multi-brand specialty retailer, serving in multiple general management roles. Most recently he was vice president of store operations for Pearle Vision's 900-location U.S. business. He began his career at IBM where he focused on the retail banking business, and also worked at Deloitte and Touche in their retail and consumer products consulting practice.

Murray received his B.A. degree from Brown University, and an MBA from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business. He is also a past Trustee for the Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital for Rehabilitation.

Alan P. Dozier, Executive Vice President and COO, GN ReSound Group North America

Alan P. Dozier joined GN in January 2001 as Executive Vice President of GN ReSound Group and President of GN ReSound Group North America.

Headquartered in Chicago, Alan is responsible for all North American operations for the GN ReSound Group, including both the GN ReSound and Beltone operations. He is also a member of the three-person Executive Committee responsible for the global management of the GN ReSound Group.

Prior to his position at GN ReSound, Dozier was with Bausch & Lomb for fifteen years. His final position with Bausch & Lomb was corporate Vice President and President of North American Vision Care for Bausch & Lomb.

Alan earned a B.A. in Economics from Washington and Lee University and received an MBA from the University of Georgia.

Laurel A. Christensen, Ph.D., Vice President of Research Audiology, Research and Development, GN ReSound Group

Laurel A. Christensen, Ph.D. is the Vice President of Research Audiology, Research and Development for GN ReSound Group. Christensen is responsible for a twenty-member team located in both Chicago and Copenhagen. Her research interests include directional microphone technologies, noise reduction, speech understanding in the elderly, and hearing aid outcome measures.

In addition to her position at GN ReSound, she holds adjunct faculty appointments at Northwestern, Rush, and Northern Illinois Universities. She serves as an Associate Editor for Trends in Amplification and is a former Associate Editor for the Journal of Speech and Hearing Research. Currently, she is on the board of the American Auditory Society and is a member of the AAA International Committee.

Christensen received her Master's degree in clinical audiology in 1989 and her Ph.D. in audiology in 1992, both from Indiana University.
