Murten, Switzerland, April 2007 - Phonak announces another trailblazing development: the hearing healthcare industry's first fitting software to feature an automatic Internet-based upgrade service.
More and more hearing care professionals today want to fit, verify and track FM systems, and many of them have already discovered the advantages of Phonak's FM SuccessWare. But now the latest version of Phonak's standalone FM SuccessWare package, developed specially for fitting infants, children, teenagers or adults with FM systems, guarantees professional quality for all these functions.
But that's not all: FM SuccessWare is the only fitting software in the industry with an automatic Internet-based upgrade service. In practice, it means every time the FM SuccessWare starts up, it checks for the availability of a newer version online. Updates are installed only if the administrator agrees. The package also includes resources on fitting and verification, and links to relevant websites on FM.
"The rising popularity of FM systems combined with new applications and product rollouts suggest that all audiological practices will soon be using this type of fitting software," explains Evert Dijkstra, Managing Director of Phonak Communications in Switzerland. "That's why we designed FM SuccessWare as a simple software package that all hearing care professionals will find easy to use."
The system's advanced database functionality facilitates the storage and tracking of all the FM data from a single practice or of one or more schools, including client and teacher names, product receiver serial numbers and lots of other information.
As another major benefit, the software also supports FM frequency management. This enables administrators to select and program FM channels for all users, eliminating interference and giving them a clear overview of multiple classrooms. Apart from this, they can adjust the FM output level of receivers to conform to ASHA fitting guidelines or any other target, and program start-up frequencies.
