Clinical Instruction, Precepting and Supervision
The author of this month's 20Q with Gus Mueller CEU article is Dr. Virginia Ramachandran, discussing the topic of clinical instruction and precepting. Dr. Ramachandran is a senior staff audiologist at Henry Ford Health System and is on the faculty at Wayne State University, where she coordinates the clinical education experiences of the audiology students. The article contains many considerations that I think will apply to audiologists who manage and supervise in any capacity. Noise-Induced Hearing Loss Series
Last month's Noise-Induced Hearing Loss webinar series provided insights into working with professional listeners: musicians, music industry professionals and music enthusiasts. Dr. Brian Fligor invited presenters who work directly with this population to share evidence, clinical tips and guide us through the portfolio of options available for the specific listening needs of this group. Apps for Audiologists
Our August series is underway, addressing the use of smart devices and apps for clinical work in audiology. This is an emerging area that is changing our work in new and exciting ways. ICD-10 is on everyone's mind now that the October 1 deadline is right around the corner. We have a one-hour CEU course available in both recorded and text formats that is straightforward, practical and provides you with further resources should you need them.
