Schaumburg, ILL., November 29, 2012 – Audiology Systems Inc., a national partnership of industry professionals, audiologists and local audiology and vestibular instrument experts, announced today that it has hired Chris Dean as national service director.  Dean will have oversight responsibility for the entire Audiology Systems service team and will report directly to Michel Jurgens, general manager of Audiology Systems.

“When we started looking for a national service director, we extended our search beyond the audiology and vestibular industries, with the intention of finding a candidate with the best experience in creating and leading a professional, technologically-advanced and very accessible service team,” said Jurgens.  “Chris is that candidate.  He has an exceptional skill-set that will be essential to our short and long-term growth at Audiology Systems.  His experience with using Web-based and remote communication tools to enhance the accessibility of service organizations, combined with his leadership and management skills, make him ideal to step into the critical position of national service director.”

Dean joined Audiology Systems from Thermo Fisher Scientific, where he served as manager, supplier network development.  In that role, he led the company’s asset management vendor service programs and drove programs to improve service delivery, efficiencies and cost savings.  Prior to that, Dean was with GE Healthcare for 12 years, most recently as a national field services program manager – focusing on compliance on both quality and environmental, health and safety.  In his tenure with that company, his many notable achievements include leading a services integration team to better serve GE’s customers in the primary care and radiology markets.  Also while with GE Healthcare, Dean served as a director of service where he directly supervised a large team of field service and application specialists covering a multi-state area and more than 3,000 customers.  He also served as a national service delivery director, OEM alliances and contract management also with GE Healthcare and, prior to that, was a product leader, in the anesthesia and respiratory market segments.  He began his career at GE Healthcare as a field service engineer/biomedical equipment technician.

“I see great opportunities to take the service aspect of the Audiology Systems business to an even higher level,” said Dean.  “We will have a particular focus on the technology of being accessible using tools like remote log-in and online access for repairs and updates.  We can really improve and professionalize the way service is performed and set the new standard for the industry while better serving and embracing our customer’s needs.”

Dean served honorably in the United States Air Force, where he was a biomedical equipment technician.  He holds an associate’s degree in biomedical technology from the Air Force, a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Northwood University and a master of business administration from Nova Southeastern University.

“To provide the best experience for our customers, we need to make sure our service technicians are the most professional and accessible in the business,” continued Jurgens.  “We are very confident that Chris is the right person to shape and lead a world-class service team for Audiology Systems.”
