San Antonio, January 5, 2005 -- Dr. Douglas L. Beck, Editor-In-Chief of Audiology Online (AO), the world's largest news, information and educational website for hearing healthcare professionals, announced today that AO will sponsor the annual NAFDA Student Writing Contest.

One first prize award will be issued in the amount of $500, and all NAFDA student members are urged to participate. Ross Cushing, president of NAFDA encouraged NAFDA members to participate in this excellent opportunity to express their ideas and concerns internationally, via Audiology Online. "Our relationship with Audiology Online has always been a win-win relationship since the beginning of NAFDA, and we look forward to an even brighter relationship in the future."

Regarding the 2005 contest, Beck said, "We're curious to learn which issues students are concerned about for the future." He said, "Submissions can be totally serious and factual, or fictional and entertaining. The suggested title is "Audiology in the Year 2010." Beck stressed that despite having a "suggested title" all student works are welcome.

NAFDA student submissions must be 2000 words minimum (no maximum) and must be submitted in WORD to Dr. Douglas L. Beck at editor@audiologyonline.com before March 18, 2005. All authors must be student members of NAFDA. Please be sure to include a cover note with your complete contact information and please be sure to state that the entry is for the NAFDA Student Writing Contest. The winning article author will be notified and announced online at www.audiologyonline.com and at www.nafda.org during AAA week.
