Audiology Online and NAFDA are pleased to announce the first annual AO-NAFDA Student Writing Contest. The theme of the contest is "Hearing Healthcare in the 21st Century." Student participants may choose to write on any topic related to hearing healthcare.
Suggested topics include (but are not limited to); Hearing Aids for Consumers, Pediatric Hearing issues, Acquiring Hearing Aids for the First Time, Tinnitus, Balance Issues, Neonatal Hearing Screenings, The Significance of the Au.D., Realistic Hearing Aid Expectations, Aural Rehabilitation: A Step-by-Step Approach, The Future of Audiology, OAEs, ASSR.
The contest is open to all student members of NAFDA. The author of the winning paper will receive a $500 award from Audiology Online. Winning papers may be published on Audiology Online, NAFDA, Healthy Hearing and/or other hearing related websites. The author's name, affiliation, and AO and NAFDA information and hyperlinks will be maintained on all publications.
The review panel will consist of Douglas L. Beck Au.D. (Editor-In-Chief of Audiology Online), Brad Stach Ph.D (President-Elect AAA), Dave Fabry Ph.D. (Past-President AAA) and David Jardine (President of NAFDA).
Recommended length of submissions is 2000 to 3000 words. References should be in standard journal format, submissions must be on WORD. Papers must be submitted between June 1st 2003, and July 31st, 2003.
