Audiology Online, the premier Internet provider of content to audiologists and hearing aid dispensers has announced their upcoming purchase of The Audiology Journal. Originally created by Glen Meier and Paul Dybala, The Audiology Journal is currently owned and operated by Audiology Journal, LLC.
Considered a landmark publication in the hearing industry, The Audiology Journal was the first monthly periodical to be published exclusively on the Internet. Readership has grown steadily since the inaugural issue in January 2000 and includes a growing international base. 'The goal of The Audiology Journal was to demonstrate the Internet's ability to bring current research findings to a worldwide audience without the extensive lag time associated with traditional print publications,' said Glen Meier, President and CEO of Audiology Journal LLC. He added, 'Both Paul and I felt the staff and resources of Audiology Online were a perfect match for the journal. They would allow The Audiology Journal to continue its growth curve and offer current readers additional areas of benefit such as CEU's and live chats.'
Audiology Online President, William LaCalle, stated 'The Audiology Journal and the online archive of articles will merge nicely with our goal of providing relevant content to practitioners. Our Web presence continues to grow and expand and we welcome the readers of The Audiology Journal.'
The purchase is expected to be completed in December and a full transition by February 2001.
