This past July, Kathy Landau Goodman, Au.D. represented the Audiology Awareness Campaign and addressed high school seniors at the National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF) on Medicine convention in Philadelphia. Dr. Landau Goodman educated students about Audiology and encouraged students to enter our field. The NYLF on Medicine holds 3 conventions per year in 9 cities across the United States. It is an opportunity for high achieving students to hear about various aspects of Medicine. High school seniors are nominated by a teacher or their community to attend. The conventions are 10 days with 350-375 students attending each.
The Audiology Awareness Campaign is pleased to announce it will be arranging for audiologists to speak at 27 NYLF conventions next year in the following cities:
Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Francisco, and Washington D.C. We will be reaching 10,000 bright high school seniors each year all over the country. The AAC is looking for enthusiastic interested audiologists to speak at these meetings. Contact Kathy Landau Goodman, Au.D. by email KLGMLAC@aol.com if you are interested. AAC will be happy to provide you with AAC educational booklets, handouts, and earplugs for distribution
