Lafayette, IN - Eight second year AuD students were nominated recently by their program directors for the Audiology Foundation of America's Outstanding AuD Student Scholarships. These students must complete a rigorous application process to be eligible for the scholarships. Winners will be selected by a committee of audiologists based on guidelines established by the AFA
Board of Directors.
The two winning third year AuD students will each receive $4500 in recognition of their academic achievement and professional potential. The scholarships are funded by a grant from the Oticon Foundation, also known as the William Demant and Wife Ida Emilie Foundation.
The nominees for the 2003-2004 academic year include:
Monica Burch - Ball State University
Ross Cushing - University of Buffalo
Jeremy Donai - Towson University
Amanda Homard - University of South Florida
Amanda LaBue - University of Texas-Dallas
Trisha Ostermeier - Central Michigan University
Angela Pregi - Nova Southeastern University
Jennifer Vargo - University of Pittsburgh
According to AFA Executive Director Susan Paarlberg, "The nominees represent the future of audiology. The AFA is pleased to support the professional education for these future doctors of audiology." The scholarship winners will be announced in August 2003.
