AuD Students Nominated for Scholarships

Share:

West Lafayette, IN - Eight AuD students were recently nominated for the Audiology Foundation of America's new Outstanding AuD Student Awards. The students, who were nominated by their program directors, must complete a rigorous application process to be considered for the awards. Winners will be selected by a committee comprised of audiologists who will use guidelines developed by the AFA Board of Directors.

The Outstanding AuD Student Awards, which will be given annually, replace the AFA's Alliance Fund Fellowship Awards. The two winning third year AuD students will receive a total of $9000 in recognition of their academic achievement and professional potential.

The nominees for the 2002-2003 academic year include:
Amanda Blue - University of Texas-Dallas
Monica Cervera - Nova Southeastern University
Shannon Goetz - Central Michigan University
Jenny Lee - Gallaudet University
Christy Monczynski - University at Buffalo
Jennifer Bai Rossi - University of Florida
Monica Serdinow - Towson University
Gretchen Zehring - Ball State University

"The caliber of the students who were nominated for this award is exceptional. Not only have they achieved academic excellence, but have also demonstrated extraordinary potential as future Doctors of Audiology", according to AFA Chair Ken Lowder. The winners will be announced in August 2002.
