AuD Students Honored by AFA

West Lafayette, IN - AuD students at University of Texas - Dallas and Ball State University were honored by the Audiology Foundation of America at luncheon ceremonies held on August 23, 2002 and September 4, 2002, respectively. Winners of the Outstanding AuD Scholarships, Amanda Blue and Gretchen Zehring received plaques from the AFA during the ceremonies.
In Dallas, AFA Chair Ken Lowder, AuD, discussed professional roles and responsibilities with students in a presentation entitled, "On Becoming a Doctor". During the luncheon AFA Director Deborah Price, AuD, presented third year UTD students with otoscopes.
Students at Ball State University were honored at a similar luncheon ceremony with a program by AFA Director Deborah Price and presentation of otoscopes by AFA Executive Director Susan Paarlberg. Students and faculty at both universities heard a presentation given by Paarlberg on the AuD transition.
These presentations and awards represent the AFA's ongoing support of AuD students.
