ASHS Graduates Honored by AFA

Three graduates of Arizona School of Health Sciences' (ASHS) Au.D. programs received Audiology Foundation of America (AFA) Professional Leadership Awards during the August 2, 2003 graduation ceremony. The awards were presented to Dr. Alisa Feldman, Dr. Tim Holston and Dr. Melvin Sorkowitz. They are members of a class of 131 graduates.
Dr. Feldman was recognized for her outstanding teamwork and excellent efforts to help her colleagues during the Au.D. degree program at ASHS.
Dr. Holston received the award as a result of his outstanding and enthusiastic participation in the Au.D. program and exceptional ability to apply new knowledge to better serve his patients.
Dr. Sorkowitz was honored for his perseverance and strength as a pioneer in hearing aid dispensing by audiologists, as well as continued, joyful dedication to leading the audiology profession to new horizons.
According to AFA Chair Ken Lowder, Au.D., "These individuals are to be commended for their exceptional professional leadership, and the AFA congratulates them and their fellow graduates for their role in transitioning audiology to a doctoring profession."
