ASHA and more than 70 other organizations are conducting a comprehensive multi-specialty survey of America's physician and health care professional practices, including audiology practices. Results from the survey will be used to positively influence national decision makers to ensure accurate and fair representation for all health care professionals and patients.
One particularly important section of the study pertains to your practice expenses and the amounts that are attributable to audiologists. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has indicated it will use the results of this study to help determine Medicare payment. A postcard was mailed to the entire survey sample on June 11. If you received this postcard, it is an indication that you have been selected to participate in the survey. Please alert your staff to accept any incoming calls, faxes, or e-mails from the survey firm, Dmrkynetec, and encourage them to make the requested information available. The survey's success depends on accurate and complete data from your practice.
Find out if you have been selected to participate in the survey by visiting the Physician Practice Information Survey Web site and entering your name and zip code. If you have been selected, the Web site will provide instructions for helping you begin preparations for participating in the survey. Your cooperation in this important endeavor is greatly appreciated.
If you know you are a selected survey participant and have any questions, please call 877-816-8940 (toll-free) and ask to speak with one of Dmrkynetec's executive interviewers about the 2008 Physician Practice Information Survey.
