Rockville, MD - September 24, 2009 - For the second year in a row, The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) was named an "exceptional" business in Maryland during the Gazette of Politics and Business "Exceptional 53 Awards" program.
ASHA ranked 15th out of 53 businesses across the state that were recognized by The Gazette for their growth, employment satisfaction, community service and innovation. "It is an honor to again this year be among such remarkable and responsible businesses in Maryland," ASHA Executive Director Arlene Pietranton says. "We extend our congratulations to our fellow award recipients. This recognition serves as a motivator to continue to strive to do our best in the important areas covered by this award."
ASHA was recognized for its strong and active commitment to social responsibility and community outreach, its "great place to work" attributes, and its public education campaign Listen To Your Buds which educates children how to use personal audio devices safely.
