Amplifon, a worldwide leader in hearing health care, recently held a 4-day International Greenhouse for it's professional training managers. Fourteen trainers, representing eight countries, participated in the event, which was held in Milan, Italy in October.
Three days of intensive hands-on workshops concluded with the Amplifon training team agreeing to implement evidence-based practice standards in each country. Currently, Amplifon has over 5000 hearing clinics in 12 countries, primarily in western Europe and North America.
The training managers also agreed to put into action a 360 degree approach to training, using conventional courses, on-line classes and podcasting to deliver targeted training that impacts patient care in a positive way. "Our goal is to create a culture of learning and continuous improvement within Amplifon that respects the entrepreneurial spirit found within each of our countries. Although we are at the beginning of our journey, our training managers are dedicated to creating & delivering high quality and innovative training to all our employees globally. Collectively, we want to be known for having the best trained and most knowledgeable professionals in the industry. We believe that by supporting some international initiatives, like universal practice standards, professional development and training can be a sustainable competitive advantage for Amplifon. This meeting gets us headed in that direction," said Dr. Brian Taylor, Global Professional Training Manager for Amplifon in Milan.
The Greenhouse training and professional development program begun in 1996 by Sonus. This was the first Greenhouse event held outside the US. Amplifon plans to hold the International Greenhouse annually.
