Washington, D.C.: American Cochlear Implant Alliance (ACI Alliance) is delighted to announce the publication of the scientific program for its annual conference, CI2021, taking place virtually April 28 – May 1, 2021.
CI2021 Cochlear Implants in Children and Adults will emphasize the importance of a team approach in the management of adult and pediatric cochlear implant (CI) patients and provide attendees with opportunities to explore current and emerging topics that impact CI outcomes for patients across the lifespan. It will also include virtual poster sessions for attendees. The conference will be offered live with interactive time for attendees and CEU/CME. The program will be recorded and available for continuing education units for 30 days after the meeting closes.
The program features presentations on a range of topics including telehealth, pediatric and adult cochlear implantation, innovations in audiology, (re)habilitation, surgical techniques and technologies, single-sided deafness, music appreciation, and addressing equity in cochlear implantation.
There will also be several featured sessions including evaluating patients whose first language is Spanish, impacting the future of cochlear implantation, audiology mentorship, and social justice in hearing health.
ACI Alliance is a not-for-profit membership organization created with the purpose of eliminating barriers to cochlear implantation by sponsoring research, driving heightened awareness and advocating for improved access to cochlear implants for patients of all ages across the US. ACI Alliance members are hearing care clinicians including surgeons, audiologists, speech-language pathologists (SLPs) as well as scientists, educators, adults with hearing loss, and family members.
