The American Academy of Audiology has submitted comments on the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) proposed rule on the five-year-review results and proposed practice expense changes for 2007. In a letter, which recognizes CMS' efforts to moderate the effect of the rule's practice expense revisions, the Academy outlines concerns about the impact of future payment decreases for key audiology services at a time when audiologists are already faced with payment reductions resulting from elimination of the Non-Physician Work Pool.
