Rockville, MD-October 26, 2005 -The American Medical Association (AMA) awarded The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) its prestigious Education Excellence Award October 21.
The group's Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) Editorial Panel recognized ASHA because of its educational efforts which include a comprehensive coding web site, publications which feature articles and columns on coding and claims, and various Association e-newsletters and educational seminars.
"Education and the development of effective resource materials are key activities for ASHA, which makes it particularly gratifying to receive this award related to coding from a group like the AMA," ASHA's Executive Director Arlene Pietranton, Ph.D. says. "We thank them for their recognition, which encourages us to continue the educational and resource development activities that we do with respect to coding."
