Birmingham - The Alabama Ear Institute (AEI) has been awarded a grant from the Crippled Children's Foundation to support AEI's Parent-2-Parent Network.

The P2P Network unites parents and families to gain knowledge in the many issues related to hearing loss. This group supports families throughout the community by providing consultations with other parents of children with hearing loss, educational materials, seminars, support groups, and updates of events and activities as related to hearing loss. These resources are free of charge to interested families.

The Alabama Ear Institute is a 501 (c) (3) not for profit foundation dedicated to touching and improving the lives of children and adults who are deaf or hard of hearing and their families. AEI accomplish this mission by means of education, research, and family oriented, culturally competent programs and services. AEI also remains active in the social and public policy arena as it serves as both a provider of the latest information for interested parties, as well as an advocate for individuals with hearing loss in the public policy arena.
