FAIRFAX, Va./PRNewswire/ -- Noise exposure is a growing issue in our communities and workplaces, says the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA). To educate the public on the subject, AIHA has published a new consumer brochure, ''Protect Yourself from Noise-Induced Hearing Loss.''

This brochure, available free from AIHA in both English and Spanish, covers such topics as when you should worry about hearing loss, the role of hearing aids, noise in the workplace, and noise in the community. It also addresses the question of what individuals can do on a personal level and a community level to protect their hearing and that of others.

''Protect Yourself from Noise-Induced Hearing Loss'' joins several other brochure titles in AIHA's Operation Outreach series. Several of the brochures also are available online in Spanish.

To obtain a copy of the noise brochure, call AIHA at +1-703-849-8888 or send an e-mail to infonet@aiha.org.
