AG Bell has named Inez K. Janger as the 2010 recipient of its prestigious Honors of the Association Award, which is given to individuals who have demonstrated dedication to, and sustained efforts toward, the mission of AG Bell. Janger and her husband, Allen, have been actively involved with AG Bell for more than 30 years - since their youngest son, Michael, was born profoundly deaf. Janger has served the association in a variety of capacities, most notably as a board member for 16 years, including serving as president of the board from 2002-2004. In addition, she lead the design and development of AG Bell's acclaimed Parent Advocacy Training (PAT) program that has provided more than 700 parents with the resources to guide their children's public education. She continues to serve in an advisory capacity as the PAT program is being updated.

"Inez was selected to join this group of distinguished honorees because of her outstanding efforts on behalf of children and adults with hearing loss, and her steadfast leadership at AG Bell," said AG Bell President John R. "Jay" Wyant. "In addition, she served on the executive committee during a period of extensive transition for AG Bell as it was moving from a traditional to a more streamlined governance model and a more results-oriented approach to the management of the association."

Janger will officially receive her award at the Opening General Session of the AG Bell 2010 Biennial Convention on Friday, June 25 at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek in Orlando, Fla.
