AFA Unveils New Website

Lafayette, IN - The Audiology Foundation of America recently unveiled its new website. The website reflects the "high-tech, high-touch" feel of Audiology. When surveyed by the AFA, almost 50 percent of audiologists said they prefer online communication, so the AFA has made their site a priority communications vehicle.

The website offers many new features including information about financial resources for individuals pursuing an AuD degree, testimonials from audiologists who have an AuD, links to AuD programs, a sample press release for new AuD graduates, and a distance education program comparison chart.

There are a number of educational materials available for practitioners and consumers, including the AFA's new "Healthy Hearing Facts" brochure and "AuD Career" brochure. AuD pins, Audiology professional symbol pins and other items are also available on the website.

A copy of the new Model Licensure Statute for Audiology, which was co-developed by the Academy of Dispensing Audiologists, the American Academy of Audiology's Subcommittee on Licensing, and the AFA may on be viewed on the website.

Check out the newly expanded AuD directory that includes nearly 1800 Doctors of Audiology across the country. AuD graduates can easily enroll in the directory on the website.

According to AFA Executive Director, Susan Paarlberg, "With our newly enhanced website we hope to provide more and better information about the transition of Audiology to a doctoral profession for both consumers and professionals."
