Thanks to all the "Au.D. News" readers who responded to our August survey asking about employers who helped finance their Au.D. degree. We heard from 128 audiologists who praised their employers for their support, financial and otherwise, in pursuing an Au.D. degree. The survey results formed the basis of an AFA article to be published in the Nov/Dec issue of "Advance for Audiologists." Here's a sneak preview of some of the results:
- Reporting employers paid for an average of 1.58 Au.D. degrees
- 79 reimbursed employees worked in hospital settings vs. 49 in private practices
- 41 employers (primarily private practice employers) paid the entire bill for employee Au.D. education vs. 87 who offered at least some financial support
