West Lafayette, IN - David Goldstein, PhD was recently honored by the University of Florida's chapter of the National Association of Future Doctors of Audiology (NAFDA) for his dedication to the development and future of the professional doctorate in audiology. Dr. Goldstein is a founding member of the American Academy of Audiology and the Academy of Dispensing Audiologists, and is often referred to as the "founding father of the Audiology Foundation of America". He served as the AFA's chair for ten years and is a professor emeritus at Purdue University.

Jaime Brackett, president of the University of Florida's chapter of NAFDA, stated, "Dr. Goldstein's leadership shaped the profession's ideas about how the transition to doctoring status could be achieved for working professionals, as well as career entrants. His efforts ultimately provided AuD students with a bright future and will bring future patients a professional Doctor of Audiology more prepared to meet their needs."
