AFA Receives $25,000 Grant for Scholarships

Share:

Lafayette, IN - The Oticon Foundation, also known as the William Demant and Wife Ida Emilie Foundation has, once again, donated money to the Audiology Foundation of America to fund scholarships for Au.D. students. The $25,000 grant will support five scholarships over the next five years.

As a result of Oticon's generosity, four third year Au.D. students have received Outstanding Au.D. Student Scholarships in the last two years. Each student received $4500. Two second year Au.D. students and two third year Au.D. students will receive scholarships for the 2004-2005 academic years.

Au.D. program directors are asked to nominate one second year and one third year student for these scholarships. The AFA received 27 scholarship nominations from 17 different programs for the 2004-2005 academic years.

"This grant will allow us to continue to provide scholarships for Au.D. students," stated AFA Chair Kenneth L. Lowder, Au.D. "The students represent the future of audiology and we are proud to support the professional education of these future Doctors of Audiology."
