AFA Hosts Charity Events at ADA Convention

Lafayette, IN - Two major events at the ADA Convention will help fund the AFA's efforts to promote the AuD movement.

Art Auction
The sixth annual art auction will be held on Thursday, October 9th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Featured pieces will include signed prints by artist Clive Kay, famous for his Disney "Tree of Life" paintings. A beautiful hand-made shawl by AFA Director Susan Terry, a Royal Doulton vase, a ceramic plate, an etched crystal perfume bottle, a quilted wall hanging, jewelry, mixed media and much more will also be featured. Once again, a cocktail party will be part of this exciting event.

Golf Tournament
Participants in this year's golf tournament will play at the Dunes Golf and Tennis Club on Friday, October 10th at 1:30 p.m. Set amidst a wildlife preserve sanctioned by the Audubon Cooperative Society, you will find a golf setting so natural and picturesque that an abundance of alligators, blue herons, bald eagles and osprey meander among the scenic lakes and lush green fairways. The eighteen holes of championship golf were masterfully redesigned in 1995 by PGA Touring Professional Mark McCumber.

Golfers will have the opportunity to go home with a new car if they win the hole-in-one contest sponsored GN ReSound/GN Otometrics. Other tournament sponsors include Advance for Audiologists, ESCO Ear Service Corporation/The HELPcard, Marcon, Midwest Hearing, Omni Hearing Systems, Sonic Innovations, Starkey, and Unitron.

Proceeds from these fun-filled events will be used to promote the AuD degree. Come and enjoy the festivities and support the AuD movement!
