AFA Honors Au.D. Students

Ball State University Au.D. student, Monica Burch, is presented with the Outstanding Au.D. Student Scholarship Award by AFA Executive Director Susan Paarlberg.

Au.D. students at Ball State University and Central Michigan University were honored by the Audiology Foundation of America at luncheon ceremonies held on September 24, 2003 and October 31, 2003, respectively. Winners of the 2003 Outstanding Au.D. Student Scholarships, Monica Burch and Trisha Ostermeier received plaques from the AFA during the ceremonies.

AFA Executive Director Susan Paarlberg presented third year Au.D. students at Ball State University with otoscopes. Students at Central Michigan University were presented with otoscopes by AFA Advisory Committee member Dr. Valenta Ward-Gravely.


Students at Gallaudet University who received coats at their first Audiology White Coat Ceremony. White Coats were provided by the AFA.

The AFA was a proud sponsor of the first White Coat Ceremonies for Au.D. students at the University of Pittsburgh and Gallaudet University. On September 13, 2003, Dr. Craig Johnson represented the AFA at the White Coat Ceremony at Gallaudet. He presented students otoscopes and audiology symbol pins, as well as white coats.


Students at the University of Pittsburgh who received coats during their first Audiology White Coat Ceremony. White coats were provided by the AFA.

AFA Director Eric Hagberg, Au.D. participated in the ceremony at the University of Pittsburgh where he, too, presented students with white coats, otoscopes and symbol pins.

These presentations and awards represent the AFA's ongoing support of Au.D. students.
