Lafayette, IN -The Audiology Foundation of America's (AFA) Board of Directors voted to provide $100,000 to the Accreditation Council for Audiology Education (ACAE) as part of their continued support of the development of new independent educational standards for audiology. In 2004, the AFA granted $75,000 to ACAE.
AFA Chair Kenneth Lowder, AuD, said, "Audiology wants and needs to establish itself as an independent doctoring profession. The AFA believes funding the ACAE will benefit the future of the profession and ensure that AuD students will receive consistent, modern education and preparation."
