Lafayette, IN - The Board of Directors of the Audiology Foundation of America (AFA) recently voted to provide $75,000 to the Accreditation Council for Audiology Education (ACAE) to support the establishment of unique, innovative, and high quality accreditation standards exclusively for Au.D. programs. Currently, there is no accreditation process exclusive to Au.D. programs, which forces these programs to work within the accreditation process for master's degree programs.
According to AFA Chair, Kenneth L. Lowder, Au.D. "We believe that funding the ACAE will benefit the future of the audiology profession and ensure that the Au.D. is recognized as the entry-level degree for the practice of audiology by licensure boards across the country."
