Lafayette, IN -The Audiology Foundation of America is proud to announce the winners of its Outstanding AuD Student Scholarships for the 2004-2005 academic years. Second year AuD students Alison Bruns and Brooke Schoeffler from Ball State University and the University of Florida, respectively, will each receive a $4500 scholarship. Third year AuD student winners Cristin Guiher, Towson University and Christopher Spankovich, Rush University will also receive $4500 each.

The Outstanding AuD Student Scholarships were established to recognize and support the "best and brightest" AuD students. Students are nominated by their program directors and must complete a rigorous application process. Twenty-seven students were nominated and four were selected by a committee comprised of audiologists, who used guidelines developed by the AFA Board of Directors. Scholarship winners will be honored at awards ceremonies held at their universities.

The scholarships are funded by a grant from the Oticon Foundation also known as the William Demant and Wife Ida Emilie Foundation.

"The caliber of the students selected to receive the AFA's Outstanding AuD Student Scholarships is exceptional. Not only have they achieved academic excellence, but they have also demonstrated extraordinary potential as future Doctors of Audiology," according to AFA Chair, Kenneth Lowder, AuD.
