The annual AFA auction will still be held at the ADA convention this year ust look for us in a different place! This year, the auction will be held as part of the entertainment at the ADA Beach Party on Friday night (October 30) from 7-10 p.m. You'll be able to enjoy great food and drinks, mingle with your friends, listen to the band, and enjoy the many offerings at the AFA Auction all at the same time!
We've also changed up our format a little bit e'll still have a few items in our live auction (thanks to Oticon for sponsoring!), but instead of a silent auction, we'll be featuring a "Bucket Auction" ith thanks to Audigy to sponsoring this new venture! You'll be able to buy tickets in varying amounts, and put them into buckets of your choice for a chance to win the items you are interested in. Most buckets will have a couple of items included aking for even more fun and surprises! All auction items will be on display early in the exhibit hall, so make sure to stop by before the auction on Friday night.
Auction items include audiology equipment, like tool kits, business consulting services, testing and counseling materials and software, workshops, video otoscopes and hearing aids. Other diverse offerings include electronics, hand-blown glass items, artwork, quilted items, books, jewelry, wine, earphones, a cabin vacation, and a pair of custom-made cowboy boots.
We'll also have special drawings including a trip for two on a Caribbean Cruise (thanks to Oaktree!) and registration for the 2010 ADA Convention (thanks to ESCO and ADA!), as well as other fun events.
The annual AFA Auction raises money to support the AFA's mission to champion autonomy and independence for audiologists, and provides funding for things like student mentoring at ADA, scholarships and other AFA programs.
